Description
29" (74 cm.) l. x 19"d x 5"h. The wooden framed box has two lithographed black and white images of the safari set on the lid. One image is captioned "Teddy and his Companions greeted by African Native Hunters - Gifts Exchanged", and the other captioned "Teddy's first encounter with the Wild Animals". The box contains a set of four 29" x 19" heavy cardstock boards with lithographed background scenes of the jungle. Along with canvas/muslin printed scene (60" x 19") depicting African jungle, with trees, water, desert and even Mount Kilimanjaro far in the background, stamped in bottom right corner "The A Schoenhut Co. Philad'a USA Humpty-Dumpty Circus Toys Reg US Pat. Off.". Very good condition, box finish is very worn. American, Schoenhut, 1909.
