Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with brown sculpted hair waved loosely away from face and captured by an elaborately decorated snood, painted facial features with unusual sculpted definition of eye sockets, bright blue eyes, closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body, porcelain forearms, black velvet gown, undergarments, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5. Comments: Germany, circa 1875, the superb snood features a realistically sculpted blue wrapped ribbon with white fringe tip, decorated with shaded pink feather, and highly defined black netting at the back with gilded bead highlights.
