Description
12" (30 cm.) x 9 1/2". A heavy card stock envelope with engraving on the cover depicting three young ladies at a toilette table, contains a 7 1/2" head-to-hip paper doll posed in profile. Along with the paper doll are 12 original costumes (numbered set), of which two have attached hair and head-pieces, and nine additional matched and numbered hats or headgear; and a printed sheet with slit at bottom for insertion of doll, designed as a display background for the doll and her many costumes. Costumes excellent, doll has light spotting, envelope worn with some staining. Circa 1850, a rare and early luxury paper doll.
