30" (76 cm.) h. Each panel 6"w. The five-panel screen of finest burled rosewood with luxury bronze mounts has unique folding hinges allowing the screen to be folded in or out,with silk backing. Each of the five panels has a fine hand-painted romantic scene highlighted by luminous scenic lighting,one panel featuring a woman with long flowing hair and delicately-draped gown. One of the scenes has the signature of the artist,Raimund Ritter von Wichera,dated 1892. The Viennese artist,1862-1925,was noted for achieving a harmony between the Romantic and Secession art movements that book-ended his life and career. Excellent condition. A rare and superbly-constructed furnishing with five paintings. Vienna,circa 1892.
