41" (104 cm.) Posed upon a wooden platform with four metal spoked wheels is a paper mache horse in prancing position, having sculpted detail of mane, harness and saddle, and with well-painted details of face. The very rare large size toy horse, definitely created as a plaything, has superb original paint and finish, and was likely produced as a special commission. French, circa 1880.
