18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump face, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, dark painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils of rounded-tip nose, closed mouth, tiny tongue tip betwen outlined and shaded lips, pierced ears, brunette human hand-tied wig, French hollowed wood loose-ball-jointed body, straight wrists, separately defined fingers, boy's antique Sunday best costume. Condition: generally excellent, original body finish with some scuffing. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head) Paris (stamp on bottom of feet). Comments: Bru, 1887, the hollowed wood body was introduced in that year, designed to compete with the classic composition body of other French firms such as Jumeau; it appears to have been made for one or two years only, Value Points: rare model of Bru with very fine bisque, painting, eyes, and original body.
