Description
11" (28 cm.) Solid dome bisque head with flanged neck, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, blonde lambswool wig, wooden block torso which contains music box and clapping mechanism, wire upper arms and legs, wooden lower arms and legs, fancily painted stockings and black ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (clover leaf on head) D.R. Patent No. 56996 (paper label on torso). Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1890. Value Points: delightful and rare toy with well-functioning merry music box and gaily clapping hands which function when the torso is squeezed.
