23" (58 cm.) Solid domed paper mache head with flanged neck, sculpted baby hair with forelock curl, blue glass sleep and "flirty" eyes, painted upper lashes, single stroke brows, open mouth, two porcelain upper teeth, tongue, impressed dimples in cheeks, muslin body, composition baby bent legs, composition hands with curled fingers, original white pique baby dress, kidskin shoes, bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 300. Comments: the model, known as Petit Claude was made for the Paris department store of Galeries Lafayette, circa 1920s. Value Points: rare model with wonderfully expressive features, fine original complexion.
