16" (41 cm.) Pale bisque shoulder head of adult woman with slender face and elongated throat, blue enamel eyes, closed mouth, painted facial features, blonde mohair wig, kid lady body with shapely waist. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1875. The doll is wearing a superb original 19th century folklore costume and coiffe from the isle of Amager, the little farming village outside of Copenhagen with lavish silk ribbons, embroidery, fringe, and three warm petticoats and leggings. From the original collection of Estrid Faurholt before being acquired by Legoland Museum, the doll was featured in the Book of Dolls and Dollhouses.
