16" (41 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with ebony black complexion, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth with mischievous smile, two rows of painted teeth, black fleecy hair, muslin body, black paper mache lower arms and legs, bare feet, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1885. Value Points: fine flawless complexion, wonderful expression with detailed painted teeth, original body.
