14" (36 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with rounded plump cheeks, sculpted blonde forelock, topknot and side curls, large brown glass side-glancing googly eyes, thick black eyeliner, short dark curly lashes, dot brows, little button-shaped nose, closed mouth in thin-lipped smile with impressed dimples at each lip corner, sculpted blue wing below each ear, composition chubby toddler body with plump tummy, jointing at shoulders, side hips and knees of short legs, starfish-shaped hands, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Ges Gesch O'Neill JDK 12 (head). O'Neill (signature on foot). Comments: Kestner, circa 1912, from the original Kewpie designs by Rose O'Neill. Value Points: wonderful bisque and painting, original body and body finish. This is the largest model of the composition-bodied Kewpie having very rare blue wings that are only found on the size 12 socket head Kewpie.
