16" (41 cm.) Porcelain shoulderhead of lady with oval slender face and elongated throat, modeled bosom, sculpted brown hair in elaborate yet simple style with very full waves around the sides of her face and captured in a tightly-braided chignon at the back of her head, with strongly-shaped nose, defined eye sockets with blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single stroke curved brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips and center accent line, muslin stitch-jointed body with porcelain lower limbs, fine early costume and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent, light rub on nose. Marks: KPM (see photo). Comments: Germany, KPM, circa 1850. Value Points: fine early dolls by the preeminent art porcelain firm are rarely found, this refined lady with rare brown hair and elaborate coiffe.
