13" (33 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, sculpted brown hair in soft curls away from her face and captured in a coiled chignon, red hair band, deeply-set eye sockets, enamel eyes, closed mouth with beaming smile and row of tiny painted teeth, impressed cheek dimples, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue stockings, red clogs, wearing original elaborate traditional costume with metallic braid and white underblouse. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, very fine modeling of face and unusual shoes, wonderfully-preserved costume.
