8" (20 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged shapely bisque torso, brown glass inset eyes, painted curly lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with impressed dimples at lip corners, plump cheeks, brunette human hair wig over plaster pate, peg-jointed bisque arms modeled bent at the elbows with cupped hands, jointing at hips and knees in manner allowing the doll to kneel, painted white stockings with scalloped rims, grey heeled boots with black lacing. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 1/2. Comments: Kestner, circa 1880. Value Points: the rarity of the jointed knee child is enhanced by superlative modeling details of face and hands, fancily painted boots.
