Description
8" (20 cm.) l. The wooden box has a slant-front lid with hand-cast iron hinges and a padded green woolen pillow top on which is bobbin lace and wooden bobbins. The box is decorated with hand-painted vibrant abstract designs of a village and trees, and the inside lid has painted designs which center a tiny mirror. The box holds several early sewing objects of fabric, wood and bone. Early 1800s.
