17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with stitched-on head, pressed and oil-painted facial features, textured complexion, brown side-glancing painted eyes, brown upper eyeshadow, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blushed cheeks and chin, brunette mohair wig, stitch-jointing at shoulders, disc-jointed hips, vintage silk dress and apron, socks and red shoes, cap, original cotton undergarments. Condition: doll is excellent, costume is delicate. Marks: see illustration. Comments: Germany, circa 1920, as inspired by the beloved Kathe Kruse doll of the era. Value Points: the doll has all original painting, and very sturdy and clean body.
