Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head with flat-cut neck socket attached to original bisque shoulderplate by metal pin in pate, rounded face with plump cheeks, painted blue eyes, thick black upper eyeliner, painted all-around lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, ash-blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original hand-stuffed kid body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, kid over-wooden upper arms, bisque arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Rohmer green oval stamp on torso). Comments: Leontine Rohmer, circa 1858. Value Points: early poupee by the prestige Parisian dollmaker with rare painted eyes, original attachment, original body and perfect bisque hands, lovely antique costume.
