Description

7" (18 cm.) A colorfully decorated tin tea caddy is being borne by two Chinese men, their jackets with unusual motif of intertwined EPL initials (Ernst Paul Lehmann), red pants, slippers, black caps with braided queues. The caddy is decorated with a smaller image of the actual toy along with names of Chinese cities. String wound, the toy moves forward by means of wheels hidden under the caddy, and the men appear to be actually walking, their arms and heads also allowing for movement. Marked Lehmann. Excellent condition, mechanism functions well, some darkening of lithography. Comments: Lehmann's EPL model 725, circa 1917.
