Description
12" (30 cm.) and 9". Each has solid domed bisque socket head, sculpted white baby bonnet in the so-called "Dutch" style (one with decorative garland of painted red roses and vines, the other with blue-petaled wildflowers), sculpted intaglio pale blue eyes, red and incised upper eyeliner, short-stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pouting expression, accent line between the lips, composition bent limb baby body, and is nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 7977 Heubach (sunburst) 3 (on larger, 0 on smaller) Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910, the model known as Baby Stuart. Value Points: beautiful complexions and expressions on the bonneted dolls, each with original body and body finish, the larger seated in a woven and bentwood highchair which is included, and the smaller with very rare variant of decoration.
