The matched pair of statuary in creamy softpaste with impasto detail of coats,painted facial features,and cobalt blue bases,depict matched sets of three dogs,designed to sit side-by-side on an etagere. The decorative dogs were a popular theme throughout the 19th century,but dogs in sets of three are very rarely found. Excellent condition. Mid-1800s,perfectly scaled for display with lady dolls about 20".
