13" (33 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with flattened dome, blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, painted lashes, delicately feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, antique cashmere wool dress with lace trim, undergarments, bonnet, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 6. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1885, the doll resembles the French bebe whose market it was created to capture. Value Points: very sweet expression complemented by dramatic large eyes on the petite closed mouth child.
