Description
14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head, amber-brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, rose-blushed eye shadow, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows with feathering, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: barely perceptible hairline between right eye and ear extends from the crown rim, otherwise excellent. Marks: R 3/0 D. Comments: Rabery and Delphieu, circa 1882. Value Points: especially pretty example of the wide-eyed bebe with very fine quality of bisque and painting, original body and body finish, original wig, and wearing original velvet dress and bonnet with blue silk ribbons, undergarments, knit stockings, and leather shoes with silver and silk rosette trim signed "Rabery Paris".
