14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with ebony-black complexion, black enamel glass inset eyes, painted lashes, black feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, unpierced ears, black mohair fleecy wig over cork pate, black kid poupee body with elongated shapely waist, antique costume. Condition: bisque is excellent, kid body is very worn, fingers missing. Comments: French, circa 1867, the doll was likely created to appeal to the international visitors at the 1867 International Exhibition in Paris. Value Points: beautiful face with especially well-defined features for such a tiny doll, flawless complexion.
