17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four tiny teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, French composition body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent, 1/3" original firing flaw at back crown rim. Marks: 0. Comments: French, circa 1900. Value Points: the doll has original body and wig, pretty expression, and is in unplayed with condition, her original elaborate costume from the French region of L'Auvergne is multi-layered of rich patterned fabrics and trim, and including original sabots, fichu, and coiffe under woven hat.
