Description
17" (43 cm.) A wooden stake wagon with elaborately constructed structure allowing wide turning axis, has thick wooden spoked wheels with metal casing, and carries fourteen wooden beer kegs. Driving the wagon is a paper mache and articulated metal doll by the Swiss maker of Bucherer, with painted hair and facial features, and wearing original folklore style costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: late 19th/early 20th century. Value Points: the wagon is so well-designed as to suggest its original construction as a salesman's sample, later used as a toy.
