16" (41 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with very plump rounded face,deeply-set eye sockets with dreamily-lidded painted blue eyes with darker blue outer rims and black downcast pupils,glazed accents at bottom edge of eyes,thick black upper eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered arched brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with center accent line,un-pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,plump kid body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees,kid-over-wooden upper arms,bisque forearms to above the elbows,bisque hands with cupped fingers. Condition: generally excellent,the especially sturdy body is of the era and correct style,although not the original gutta percha body. Comments: Adelaide Huret,circa 1858. Value Points: compelling dreamy expression enhanced by beautiful bisque and painted features,especially eyes; the poupee is wearing a red-trimmed cotton dress of the era with straw bonnet trimmed with red ribbons,and carrying red leather purse,undergarments,leather shoes,and owning a trousseau which comprises four additional dresses,black silk coat with ribbon trim,black taffeta skirt,white blouse,various undergarments and shift,wool blanket with red embroidery and silk ribbon edging,little all-bisque doll,and a red leather traveling valise.
