Description
3 1/4" (8 cm.) h. Kewpie Traveler. Each is all-bisque figure of classic Kewpie with topknot, blue wings, side-glancing eyes, and includes Kewpie Traveler with Doodledog companion, holding parasol; a trio of Kewpies depicting a spectacled preacher performing wedding vows to bride and groom; small Doodledog; seated Kewpie with pink-tinted cat on its lap; seated Kewpie with folded arms on wicker chair; Kewpie in original crepe paper preacher costume; Kewpie as Uncle Sam. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (some with incised Kewpie or black c. in circle). Comments: Germany, circa 1910, from original designs by Rose O'Neill. Value Points: wonderful collection of Kewpies including rare Doodledogs and Wedding Trio.
