Description
5" (13 cm.) x 5" box. 2" fan. An early box with engraved paper cover and label "Mouchoir" (handkerchief) stores a fine collection of accessories for early poupees about 14"-17". Included is a beautiful folding fan with hand-painted designs in original box, another folding fan of cutwork bone with green silk blades, two pairs of gloves, carved bone silk ribbon holder, lacquer box with hand-painted lid, group of early hankies, green enamel smelling salts receptacle, and pair of green earrings in original red paper box initialed FG. Generally excellent. French, circa 1865.
