Italian Felt Character Boy, Model 300/10, by Lenci in Original Costume

17" (43 cm.) Felt socket head with pressed and painted facial features, brown side-glancing eyes, grey lower eye shadow, painted side lashes, feathered brows, closed mouth, blonde mohair side-parted wig in short boyish fashion, jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent, slight wear to wig at sides of head. Comments: Lenci, circa 1930, model 10 from the firm's 300 series. Value Points: presented as schoolboy, wearing original green knit sweater with brown edging, matching leggings, cream felt shirt, brown felt shorts, brown leather cobbled shoes. The model was featured in an early advertising card by Lenci along with a Lenci schoolgirl, model 300/3 (lot #205 of this book).
