17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with rounded plump facial modeling, painted facial features, blue eyes with glazed highlights at lower eye rim, painted black eyeliner and lashes all around the eyes, lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, accented lips of closed mouth, unpierced ears, lambswool wig over cork pate, French all-wooden poupee body with dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, beautifully costumed in silk costume of the era with white underblouse, undergarments, ankle boots with elastic insets, straw bonnet. Condition: crack on right shoulder plate from front to back, body finish worn but not repainted. Marks: Medaille d'Argent Huret 22 Boulv Montmartre Paris (stamp on torso). Comments: Adelaide Huret, circa 1860, wooden body not original but of the same period and style. Value Points: very beautiful face with classic Huret eye decoration lending a very realistic look, lovely bisque, wooden fully articulated body.
