Description
16" (41 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with slight pink tinting, oval face and elongated strong throat, black sculpted hair with small V-shape center part, looped curls below the sculpted ears and drawn back into a very tight chignon at the back of head, painted bright blue upper-glancing eyes, one-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blushed cheeks, kid poupee body with shapely torso and limbs, mitten hands, silk costume. Condition: generally excellent, a 1" x 1" piece missing at lower left shoulderplate rim (under kid body). Comments: French, attributed to Jacob Petit, circa 1850. Value Points: rare early model with highly stylized coiffure made popular by Queen Victoria.
