Description

18" (46 cm.) l. x 10"h. A wooden framed royal carriage with four spoked wheels, coachman's stand at the back, driver's seat, upholstered interior, curved glass windows at each side, and superb painted and gilded exterior with oil-painted Watteau style scenes on each faux-door panel, has access through the lifting roof . Excellent condition, original finish throughout. French, circa 1885, the luxurious carriage was presented as a deluxe "boite de bon-bons" by the prestigious Parisian candy store of Marquise de Sevigne, and represented a royal carriage of the king or aristocracy of the late 18th century. Few examples of this are known to exist.
