Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,dreamily-modeled eyelids with thick black upper eyeliner,painted blue eyes with upper glancing pupils,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils of finely-shaped nose,closed mouth with outlined lips,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid poupee body with gusset-jointing,bisque arms to above the elbows with well-defined hands. Condition: generally excellent,body is very clean and firm with two tiny kid patches at upper legs. Comments: circa 1866,mystery maker,the model may have been designed for exhibition at the 1867 Paris International Exposition; another model is not known to exist. Value Points: the very rare doll has exquisite portrait-like features,dreamy expression achieved by eye modeling and painting,choice bisque,original elaborate wig,rare body style,superb original costume comprising silk gown,undergarments,leather shoes,woven bonnet and jewelry.
