25" (64 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head of adult lady with very elongated throat, sculpted hair in elaborately braided "beehive" crown sided by two wide poufs of arranged curls, painted teal-blue eyes, painted lower lashes, brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, slender kid body and wooden lower limbs, painted blue shoes, early costume. Condition: some craquelure on throat, chip off corner of left front shoulder plate, body repaired at the waist, some old retouch on back hair and lashes. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare grand size of the early lady has allowed splendid definition of elaborate hair braids and curls.
