Description
30" (76 cm.) x 22" tavern. 14" man. Arranged within a prop "taverna" with faux-architectual details are chairs, rare early earthenware fountain in the corner, table laden with food, shelving filled with copper pots, more copper pots suspended from ceiling rack, all centered by a polychromed terra cotta innkeeper with sculpted short brown hair, moustache and trimmed beard, enamel eyes, painted teeth, tow-wrapped armature posable body with carved wooden arms and legs, painted black stockings and black shoes with red buckles, wearing original homespun costume comprising short pants, laced vest and jacket. Excellent condition, age of prop taverna is uncertain, all other objects and man are mid/late 1700s.
