A leather purse-shaped case with rich gold tooling and mother-of-pearl inlay with gilt trim,is intricately constructed to hide the fine-quality opera glasses that are hidden inside,and are revealed by a secret latch which causes the purse to "pop" open. With chain handle. The latch is signed "La Mignonne Patent Bte SGDG". Excellent condition. French,circa 1875,extremely rare and deluxe.
