Description
19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, rose-blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (original untinted square at back of head) SGDG 8 (and artist checkmarks). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his Bebe Reclame made for various Paris department stores, designed to have the store place its paper label at the back of the head, circa 1892. Value Points: pretty bebe with beautiful amber eyes, original body and body finish, is wearing lovely antique dress with cotton pinafore (matching #422), undergarments, blue silk bonnet, socks, shoes.
