18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks, deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, lips slightly parted, shaded and outlined lips, metal screw at back of head for "teteur", rubber ball inside head (dried), pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French hollowed wood body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: bisque excellent, repainted body is original. Marks: Bru Jne 8 T. Comments: Bebe Teteur, Bru, circa 1890. Value Points: especially beautiful painting of complexion, deep paperweight eyes, rare body, wearing very fine antique magenta and ivory silk costume.
