Description
28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, lushly painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked brows with feathered detail, accent dots at eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the outlined and shaded lips, separately modeled pierced ears, dimpled chin, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, flake and touch-up at right pierced ear hole. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 13 (and artist checkmarks on head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1888. Value Points: beautiful creamy complexion enhanced by rich facial painting, very deep eyes, and luxury details such as chin and lip dimples, original body and body finish, gorgeous antique dress and bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes signed "Paris Depose" with impressed bee symbol.
