An oval sepia photograph of Empress Elisabeth during the highly fashionable era of her reign is framed in brass oval with surrounding frame of beading with decorative leaves at each corner,with easel back. The photograph depicts the beloved Empress,known as Sissi,during the peak of her reign,circa 1870s,and was likely presented as a ball favor during that time.
