9" (23 cm.) Seated upon a paper mache piglet with "nodder" head and tail is a bisque doll with black complexion, highly characterized laughing expression, black glass enamel eyes, closed mouth with beaming smile, row of painted teeth, black mohair wig, wooden limbs, clown costume. Condition: overall very good, bisque excellent, piglet dusty. Marks: 11. Comments: Germany, circa 1890. Value Points: rare and amusing novelty toy with well-characterized bisque art character face, nodding mechanism of piglet's head and tail.
