Description
31" (80 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, brush-stroked brows with feathered detail, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, dimpled chin, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R Simon & Halbig 117 80. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1912, an important signature doll by that firm that combined the idealism of the dolly-faced models with the expressiveness of the art characters, the doll was rightfully marketed as Mein Liebling (my darling). Value Points: few examples of the rare 80 cm model are known to exist, fine matte bisque and painting, original body and body finish, lovely antique costume.
