19" (48 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with very plump face, blonde sculpted hair waved away from her face and forming into short curls behind her fully sculpted ears, black hair band, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lightly painted lashes and brows, tiny nose with accented nostrils, tiny closed mouth, muslin stitch-jointed body, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1870, the model bears a close resemblance to Alice in Wonderland as drawn by John Tenniel for the 1865 Lewis Carroll book, and which may have inspired the model. Value Points: finely sculpted hair and plump-faced features, glass eyes.
