12" (30 cm.) Carved wooden socket head, gofun complexion, narrow enamel inset eyes with heavy eyelids, painted brows and feathering around the edges of forehead, open mouth, black silk floss hair combed smoothly from her face and extending to back waist, carved wooden arms and legs. Condition: very good, complexion a bit dusty. Comments: Japan, late 1800s, attributed to the studio of Maruhei. Value Points: wearing original silk crepe costume, and posed on original wooden stand.
