Description
6"h. Posed upon a green tin platform is a tin flat dimensional clown who appears to be "testing his strength". The tin strength indicator is surmounted by a tin blonde haired rascal, suggestive of the storybook figure Moritz, and the yellow embossed indicator tab rises and falls with each blow of the hammer. Pushing the clown's left leg forward activates the action: he strikes the weight, the lever rises accordingly, and if the "500" is reached, Moritz flips the gold ring from one hand to the other in victory. Marked Gely under an arched symbol, and 98. Made in Germany, DRGM. Excellent condition with amusing movements that function well. Circa 1925.
