27" (69 cm.) Wax-over-porcelain head with distinctively painted white facial complexion, narrow brown glass deeply inset eyes, rich umber shadow around the eyes, uniquely painted brows, side painted lashes, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the lips, black human hair with decorations, cloth torso and upper limbs, wax-over-porcelain lower limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Krey Baby Chido 2006 (incised on head) AP 1 (ink on head) Chido AP1 by Susan Krey, 2006, L.E. 7 (box). Comments: Susan Krey, 2006, artist proof of "Chido". Value Points: the distinctive doll is perfectly preserved, wearing fine cotton kimono and pants with print of Japanese women, the doll is a unique artist proof of the exquisitely modeled child.
