14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulder plate, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, slightly parted lips with two rows of teeth, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, kid-over-paper-mache upper torso and cone-shaped lower form in the shape of a full-length skirt bisque arms from below the elbows, nice costumed; when wound, she glides forward, turns, pauses, glides in another direction, and twirls in varying sequence on the three small hidden wheels protruding from the underbase of the skirt form. Condition: generally excellent, movements function well. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1865, the waltzing lady was deposed by him, and made for a period of years with variations in the facial model. Value Points: elegant movements, especially beautiful face and eyes, perfect bisque hands.
