Description
5.5" (14 cm.) Seated upon a fancily costumed performing pig with hinged ears is a man with Tyrolean style costume, tall silver hat with feather, black painted boots and cloth jacket and pants. When coil-spring wound, various actions occur: the pig erratically moves about as though dancing, his ears and tail move, and the man bounces up and down and side to side. Excellent condition, mechanism is fine and intact, but operates unpredictably, painted tin is beautifully intact with few paint flakes, cloth costume is original and intact. Marked Lehmann. Comments: Lehmann, EPL model 500, circa 1905, inspired by dancing pigs, popular at early 20th century circuses, the toy employed three separate patents in its movements.
