Description
16" (41 cm.) doll. 17" l. cabinet. Poured wax solid domed shoulderhead inclined to the side, well-defined facial features, blue enamel eyes with heavy eyelids, closed mouth, double chin, attached to original silk covered poupard body with poured wax arms. The poupard child is wearing original silk twill gown with silver metallic embroidery and embroidered lace bonnet. Condition: very good overall with original finish, some speckling of wax. Comments: Germany, 18th century. Value Points: the expressive-faced child is presented in original wooden-framed cabinet along with original embroidered silk quilted blanket and pillow.
