Description

6" (15 cm.) The painted tin toy features a dappled white horse whose two front legs are posed upon a green wheeled platform, and a cowboy with yellow hat, blue scarf, red shirt and brown trousers seated on the yellow saddle of the horse. The hind legs are hinged and the tail and head of the horse are movable, as are the cowboy's arms. When coil-spring wound, the platform rolls along forward and to the side, the horse bucks, kicking his back legs and waving tail, and the cowboy is flung over the horse's head, hanging on upside down, in front of the horse. Excellent condition, functions well, few minor paint flakes. Marked Lehmann. Comments: Lehmann's EPL model 625, circa 1915, the toy was based upon the original design of Colorado inventor Charles Lewis.
